BPC is aghast at the Inspector’s decision in his interim findings to recommend the NE Thatcham development should be 2500 dwellings. This far from sustainable development will have a significant adverse impact on traffic levels in Upper Bucklebury and Cold Ash, on biodiversity and on The North Wessex Downs National Landscape.

BPC is pleased to note the Inspector requires a masterplan to be produced by WBC before any planning application is started.BPC will vigorously engage in the masterplanning process and will offer constructive evidence-based representations to challenge any justification put forward for 2500 dwellings in NE Thatcham.

Barry Dickens - Chairman BPC
